Lyrics:
When we met, I worried that you and me sparked too easy
Did me in with your grief, we grew into something heavy
Been a while, we lost touch, I feel like a stranger
I ran out on you love, hoping you don't blame me
I changed like the seasons, and you faded like a feeling
When we met, I noticed that you and me got hurt too easy (Hurt too easy)
Tangled up in the dark, it felt like we got lazy (We got lazy)
Been a while since we talked, you feel like a stranger
I ran out on you love, I wish you didn't blame me
I changed like the seasons, and you faded like a feeling
Even when I was lying right there next to you
(I was nothing but a shadow)
Even when I was crying right there next to you
(I was nothing but an echo)
Been a while, we lost touch, I feel like a stranger
I ran out on you love, I hate that you blame me
I changed like the seasons, and we faded like a feeling
Been a while since we talked, you feel like a stranger
I ran out on you love, hoping you don't hate me
I gave you every reason (Every reason)
But I just lost the feeling (Lost the feeling)
I changed like the seasons, and you faded like a feeling

Trivia and Quotes:
Tegan and Sara wrote a Substack post about this song.
"I wrote the song last summer/fall under the spell of the changing seasons. It began as a love song then evolved into more of a loss song. Just as the seasons can't stop themselves from changing, nor can I; nor can anyone else. Part of the unspoken agreement of entering into a relationship is accepting that one day, all the feelings you had might fade. Yet we take the risk anyway." - Tegan Quin in 2022
